Happy Halloween!

Unfortunately I will be working Halloween but hopefully I will be getting out around 9:30 pm so the night will still be young! Work is requiring all of us to be in costume, I plan on going in scrubs because frankly the thought of working in scrubs makes me giddy. It will be like working in pajamas! Woot. So far there are a few of us planning on wearing scrubs so it will be humorous seeing numerous servers/hostesses at a restaurant in scrubs.

Hope everyone has a fun Halloween. If you see a girl walking around as 3D glasses, that's probably me! I hope I won't be running into another 3D glasses or it will go down. Nah I'll probably just wave to be honest.

Look Book: The Spirit of Halloween.

Dress: Anthropologie, Shoes: Seychelles

Normally I shy away from bright colors such as this orange, in fact when I first saw it my automatic thought was "there's no way." but I've been trying to make more of an effort to add color besides blue, black, white and gray in my wardrobe so I went ahead and tried it on. Once it was on I started to appreciate the bright pop of color in the skirt and how it contrasted with the gray. I love Anthropologie but I don't love their prices so when I saw this dress on sale, I had to snatch it up and I'm glad I did.

And the shoes! Oh how I love these shoes. I've been looking for a pair of boots like these that can go with not just jeans but dresses and skirts too. These are perfect. They do start hurting after about an hour but it's worth it. (thanks mom!)

Oh and the picture quality is not the greatest on this one because it was taken with my cell phone. Poor college student obsessed with clothes = no camera. From now on I'll be assigning the task to Los since he happens to own a camera. He's amazing like that :)

Halloweeeen!

So this is actually the first year that I'm truly and utterly excited for Halloween. This is because I actually picked out my own costume that I'm in love with and would wear everyday if I could. Ok perhaps not everyday but many days.

Growing up, we never celebrated Halloween. My parents were into that whole "It's the devil's holiday" thing and so the most we would do was go to church functions where I would still gorge myself on candy and feel the consequences later. I've never actually been "Trick or Treating" which people tend to gasp at but I'm ok with. I'm far too paranoid of a person to go knocking on strangers doors and there's always the possibility of poisoned candy or hidden razors in apples. Hey, it happens!

But this Halloween is different! I have my very own costume and I'm going to hang out with friends while walking around balking at the variety of slutastic costumes. Sooo freaking exciting!

So now that I got you all hyped up, bursting at the seams for a peek at my costume; check it.

3D glasses. Genius! I got this from Etsy seller Nicole Lindner. This girl has got skills I tell you, she did a great job on this dress and I couldn't be more thrilled with it. I plan on either pairing it with my black Seychelles boots or these fabulous bright red mary jane wedges I thrifted for 6 bucks. Stay tuned for the excited decision and post Halloween pictures!

Where the Wild Things Are.

Friday night I finally got to see the much anticipated Where the Wild Things Are movie. It was near midnight and I just got done from work and babysitting the whole day, in short, I was exhausted but I didn't want to wait any longer to see this movie. Plus I was able to witness it in IMAX (que in the "oos and ahhs").

The exhaustion and anticipation was well worth it.

It was visually stunning, emotionally capturing and the soundtrack was perfection. I. loved. it. I was able to leave the theatre with my guy's hand in mine and a smile on my face.

If you haven't seen it yet, go! If you have, weren't those warm fuzzy childlike feelings you felt while watching grand? I thought mine were gone forever.

I've been seeing fashion lines everywhere in relation to the movie. Check out all the cool Where the Wild Things Are items from Urban.

va voom.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw these...

Oh the tiny studs..

The suede gray..

The sky-high heels!

but then dropped when I saw the price tag.

Ever see something and immediately feel like you must have them to truly feel complete? These feelings are so unhealthy when you're a full-time student and part-time minimum wage employe living with your brother. Sigh. There's always Christmas and saving my pennies slowly but surely.

These have the potential to make my legs look amazing people! Just look at the model! I bet she's stoked to be wearing such texture rich beauties on her tootsies. Mind you that leather corset skirt can't be comfortable to walk around in and is pushing the sexiness in my book but hey! I'll bet she's still pretty darn happy.

Thanks to Peonies, I'm a big admirer of Bona Drag.

These (much more affordable) studded ballet slippers are also on my lust list. They have the potential to bring out my inner ballerina rock star.

Sooomething gooood...

What is the purpose of this blog? What's with the lame name? And don't you have better things to do?

To share my love of fashion, Etsy finds and basically vent/babble my thoughts. Whether someone cares to read it or not, it's more for my pure enjoyment. And maybe to keep my boyfriend from going insane because lets face it, a guy can only be so wonderful before he bursts that he doesn't give a damn about 4 inch heels or that Etsy vintage skirt and leaves in a huff. He would never do that but nonetheless, I don't want to push it.

The lame name.. no excuses really. So many of my cool kid name ideas were already taken and I had an Ingrid Michaelson song in my head (Oh What a Day) so there you have it.

And no, no I do not.
